During the morning hours, campers will join instructor Eliana Rodriquez for “The Wonders of Printmaking.” In this camp we will have a blast exploring different types of printmaking from screen prints, relief prints, and monoprints. Campers will combine different techniques to get vivid, multicolored prints, posters and clothes. Come prepared to have fun getting messy. Campers can expect to learn the basics of screen printing, how to carve and ink a block and more!
In the afternoon, instructor Paige Taylor will lead campers in “Picture Perfect” a camp to explore a variety of topics and processes to create several photo projects including studio portraits, constructed images, cyanotypes, and more! Camp time includes group photo shares, short presentations for inspiration, and hands-on photo-making. Campers can expect to make photos during camp as well as after hours. Campers will need a smartphone for taking photos and a photo-editing app like Apple Photos or Adobe Lightroom mobile. A tripod is recommended but not required.
On Friday afternoon, campers will display their works in a makeshift gallery setting and invite friends and family members to view their creations.
This camp is open to all levels from rising 7–12 grades.
All camp materials are provided (unless noted) as well as light snacks & bottled water. Students are required to bring a bagged lunch.
Students are welcome to stay until 5:30 p.m. for a supervised session of outdoor free time, games, and more.
