Join us for a square dance in MHU’s Loft in McConnell Hall with live old-time music! Absolutely no experience is necessary—first-timers are welcome and encouraged. The caller will tell you what to do! This dance is free and open to all—both on campus and community. A great way to unwind and be a part of an Appalachian tradition. Brought to you by the Ramsey Center for Appalachian Studies with support from the Madison County Tourism Development Authority.
The dance will be called by Rodney Sutton with music provided by William Ritter, Brett Riggs, Pan Riggs, and Meredith McIntosh.
Visit: https://www.mhu.edu/about/where-we-are/ for directions and location. In order to access the building, please note: The front of the building is currently inaccessible due to construction, so please enter from the Bailey Street parking lot. In the parking lot, you’ll see steps on your left. Go up these until you see the black metal steps that lead into the Loft. Those black metal steps will take you to the dance!
