Traditional Undergraduate Students

Welcome to Mars Hill University, located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, and just a 20 minute drive from Asheville—the Southeast’s coolest little city!

Mars Hill University’s rich heritage stretches back more than 150 years to its founding by Baptist families in 1856. Today, you’ll find Mars Hill University to be a place where all students are welcomed and are actively engaged—in the classroom, on campus, and in the community.

Our Liberal Arts education prepares graduates for meaningful lives in an ever-changing world. With 36 majors (with 61 concentrations) and 37 minors to choose from, you don’t have to lock yourself into one path. Dedicated faculty members thrive on helping students find their way to an exciting and rewarding future.  Students looking for an additional challenge are encouraged to consider applying to the Honors Program.  And if  you are looking for leadership development or top scholar academic awards, you will find that as well. On top of it all, the Cothran Center for Career Readiness works with faculty and students to begin incorporating career discernment and self-discovery from your first coursework on campus. We look  forward to seeing how the versatile skills you receive at MHU translate into perfect placement after graduation through internships, first jobs or graduate school.

Whether you’re considering attending a university for the first time, planning to transfer from another higher education institution, or hoping to join us from an international location, we can’t wait to welcome you to Mars Hill University!
