Laurel Scholarship

The Laurel Scholarship, established in 2021, is the most prestigious academic award at Mars Hill University. Students selected to be part of the program will be offered a full-tuition scholarship.

The Laurel Scholarship is available to incoming freshmen and early college students pursuing a full-time traditional undergraduate degree at Mars Hill. To be eligible, students must meet two out of three requirements: have a minimum 3.8 high school grade point average, be in the top five percent of their graduating class, score at least 1300 on the SAT or 27 on the ACT. Other factors taken into consideration include essays, recommendations, and interviews.

Requirements

• Interview: Required
• Recommendations: 2 required – recommended to be from teacher/instructor/mentor
• Academic Criteria – Two of three of the following must be met:
  • 1. Minimum 3.8 High School GPA
  • 2. Top 5% of graduating class
  • 3. Minimum SAT of 1300 OR minimum ACT of 27
• Class status: Incoming freshmen and early college students pursuing a full-time traditional undergraduate degree.
