The Department of Music at Mars Hill is renowned for producing superb educators and performers whose career paths include the classroom, community and church work, graduate school, the concert stage, and beyond.
Students, regardless of major, participate in our many ensembles. These include The Mars Hill University Choir and The Mars Hill University Wind Symphony, opera workshop, chamber singers, and jazz band, and numerous other instrumental small ensembles.
If your academic interest includes a potential major in music, know that we offer the Bachelor of Arts in Music (which is a broad degree that allows for exploration of other academic interests and might lead to careers in Music Business, Music Therapy, or Church Music), the Bachelor of Music in Music Education (leading to K-12 certification in NC), or the Bachelor of Music in Performance (for those students with an eye towards a career as a professional performing artist). We also offer a minor in music for students pursuing other academic interests, but who also wish to explore their passion for music beyond just performing in our ensembles.
If you would like more information about joining our music program click the Request Music Info. button on the right side of this page.
Regardless of your interests, Mars Hill can be the place for you!
