Class Schedule and October 3 Update
October 3, 2024
In order to provide sufficient time for students, families, faculty, and staff to prepare for instruction to resume, and in consideration of ongoing needs in the surrounding region, the University is making the following adjustments to the calendar.
- Classes will remain suspended though Wednesday, October 9, and Fall Break will be moved to October 10 and 11. At this time, the University plans to resume classes on Monday, October 14.
- We anticipate that most classes will resume in their originally scheduled modality (face to face, online, etc), with the possibility of some adjustments in special cases in which instructors may not be able to come to campus.
- Thanksgiving break (November 27-29) and the last day of the semester (December 10) will remain unchanged.
- Residence halls and dining services will remain open, including during fall break. The dining schedule for Friday, October 4 will be breakfast 8-9am, lunch 12 noon – 1pm, and dinner 5-6pm.
- Next week, the University will be publishing a contact address for students from affected areas who may need assistance or who may need to request accommodation with their return to classes. Details will be sent to students through MHU email. Please be assured that we want every student to have an opportunity to successfully complete the semester, and that professors, student life staff, and other support services will endeavor to help in any reasonable way.
Many students on campus have been engaged in volunteerism and service over the past several days, and we anticipate many more opportunities for students on campus next week.
Additional updates regarding matters such as office schedules and any additional Term I and Term II calendar adjustments for Adult and Graduate Studies will be shared on Friday, October 4. Updates for other University events, such as Homecoming activities, will also be forthcoming.
