Getting Healthier As a Campus Community

Wellness ChallengeThirty-six million. It’s not a lottery jackpot dollar amount, but a number representing a jackpot earned by Mars Hill University students, staff, and faculty. Participants in the university’s month-long Motivated Healthy U (MHU) Step It Up wellness challenge took 36,693,901 steps.

The challenge ran August 27 – October 1, 2018, and involved a competition on an individual level, as well as within teams of four to six people. Participants earned points for walking, running, cycling, and other fitness activities; for tracking their food intake; and for participating in activities related to mental and spiritual well-being.

When the points were tallied at the conclusion of the challenge, student team The Migos and faculty/staff team MHU Fit Crew topped the leaderboards.
