Suspected Phishing Scam Using Telephone Numbers Masked as MHU Numbers

We have received a few reports of Mars Hill alumni receiving phone calls from what appears to be a Mars Hill phone number, but which try to sell a credit monitoring or repair service. Should you receive such a call, please be aware that it is not affiliated with Mars Hill University in any way. We only will contact you by phone at certain times of year for scholarship fundraising drives, or for very specific university opportunities such as the alumni directory.

We do not believe that there has been a data breach, but rather think this is a wide-net phishing scam, using masked MHU numbers to appear more legitimate.
