MHU Student Named 2020-21 recipient of the Arthur Everett Wood Endowed Nursing Scholarship

Rebecca Dallman of Franklin, Tennessee, is the 2020-21 recipient of the Arthur Everett Wood Endowed Nursing Scholarship at Mars Hill University. Dallman is a senior in the pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in the university’s Judge-McRae School of Nursing.

The scholarship is awarded to a student with demonstrated need who maintains high grades overall and within science classes, who demonstrates leadership qualities, is passionate and compassionate, is invested in and committed to the calling of nursing, and who demonstrates caring and community service. It was established in memory of Art Wood, a member of the Mars Hill class of 1947 and a Mars Hill professor of mathematics and physics from 1949 to 1991. This is the third year this scholarship has been awarded.

Bob Wood and Jean Wood Boone, Art Wood’s son and daughter, and Corny Wood, his daughter-in-law, visited the MHU campus last week to meet Dallman and congratulate her on her selection for the Wood Scholarship.
