Dr. Christian Frabitore is an assistant professor of chemistry at Mars Hill University. He is one of the instructors for general chemistry and also the instructor for inorganic chemistry and other focused chemistry classes. Dr. Frabitore began teaching at MHU during the fall 2024 semester.
Dr. Frabitore received his undergraduate degree from Furman University, a liberal arts university with a similar background and mission to MHU. He performed research on novel hydroscopic polymer for use as anti-biofouling coatings in marine applications. While at Furman, he was also heavily involved in the Western Carolinas section of the American Chemical Society where he first met Dr. Amanda Knapp, a long-time professor of chemistry at MHU.
Dr. Frabitore then moved to Bozeman, Montana, where he received his Ph.D. while pursuing research on a novel, low-cost synthesis of N-heterocyclic pharmaceutical scaffolds. While at Montana State University, he was a laboratory teaching assistant for five years where he was regularly rated by the students as a highly passionate and enthusiastic instructor. Dr. Frabitore firmly believes that every student at MHU deserves the best science education possible.
