Kayti Ledford is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice. She has worked in the public safety field for twenty years with special interests in substance abuse, criminology, juvenile justice, and forensics. She comes to Mars Hill from a local community college where she was the Criminal Justice Department Chair and Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy Program Coordinator. She has a passion for community-based learning, utilizing her expertise in the field to create a hands-on learning environment for her students. Her current research focuses on Appalachian women with substance abuse disorders and rural recidivism.
