Dr. Adrienne Akins Warfield teaches courses in American literature and first-year composition as well as upper-level courses for English majors and future English Language Arts educators, including ENG 111: Introduction to Academic Writing; ENG 112: Writing Across the Curriculum; ENG 190: Introduction to Literature; ENG 215: American Literature Survey; ENG 312: Adolescent Literature; ENG 322: American Literature Since 1900; ENG 329: Diversity in American Literature; ENG 335: Modern and Contemporary Literature; ENG 355: Social Justice in Literature and Culture; ED 474: English Education Practicum; ENG 399: Junior Seminar, and ENG 450: Senior Seminar. She is the coordinator of MHU’s secondary English Education program. She has published on authors including James Baldwin, Willa Cather, Sandra Cisneros, Roberta Fernández, Ernest Gaines, Zora Neale Hurston, Arthur Miller, Walker Percy, Leslie Marmon Silko, John Steinbeck, Mark Twain, Margaret Walker, and Eudora Welty.
